In the current situation we are understandably focussing our thinking about how to deal with the present circumstances and demands. But for many different reasons we may also be thinking about the future: our personal future, the future of our families and of the people connected directly to us, and of ‘the wider world’.
I am interested in exploring people’s emerging thoughts about the future, post-COVID-19 pandemic. It may be that having some time to think about this, and hearing what others are thinking, will be helpful and encouraging.
So, I am trying out a small ‘project’ designed to ‘capture’, ‘summarise’ and perhaps ‘compare and contrast’ the thoughts that people are having. This can only be a snapshot and of course people’s thoughts will evolve as time passes and events happen.

If you would like to participate, then here is what you can do. Thank you.
Please respond to the following questions (to one or both questions, but preferably to both).
Please limit your response to 3000 characters (about two sides of A4 type) per question - summaries, bullet points, and responses significantly shorter than 3000 characters etc are all fine.
1. Thinking about your personal world (you, your family and friends, and your work/post-work circumstances) in two years’ time and beyond, what changes do you think will have occurred and be occurring as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic?
2. Thinking about the wider world (e.g. social, financial, political, environmental) in two years’ time and beyond, what changes do you think will have occurred and be occurring as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic?
METHOD FOR REPLYING WITH YOUR RESPONSE
Please send your response to the Questions either as a text file attached to an email, or as an email in itself. This should be sent to [email protected]. It would be very helpful if you could reply by the end of June at the latest..
WHO CAN TAKE PART?
Anyone is invited to take part, so if you have family/friends who you think would find it interesting, then please pass this on. Please note: as the responses are being made by email the process is not anonymised. But please be assured that no contributor will be named and no contribution will be identified.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
During June/July we will provide an update on this Blog on how things are going in terms of responses. We will then apply some analysis with the aim of identifying themes and ideas. We will then summarise this, write it up and send it to you by email. Then, depending on how the process has gone, and your reaction to what is published, there may be scope to develop a further stage(s).
We hope that this sounds an interesting and possibly worthwhile thing to be doing. If you have any questions or queries please just send those to the same email address: [email protected] .
