The three video clips are below - the first is just before dawn and you can see the hare top left, scampering around the far side of the pond; then on the second clip, it is very early morning now (you can see the time-stamp bottom left of the clip's screen), and he returns coming around the pond and runs off-screen towards the house; and on the third clip he returns. Please take a look at the clips and it would be REALLY helpful if you could write a comment on this blog to let me know if the clips have played OK. We are currently working out ways we can provide storage and easy access for the recordings we will (hopefully) be getting - but the first thing to verify is that the formats we're using work at 'your end' - thank you ... and, enjoy the hare!:
As I said in the last Blog post, we have been setting up the equipment to record some of the wildlife at 'Nichoir'. After a few 'test-runs' with the Bushnell camera, we positioned it between the house and the pond - with it set for high-definition video recording in 10 second bursts, triggered by any movement within a field of vision of around 50 degrees over a distance of 40 metres. Over a couple of nights all we got were some cats and and, yes, a very large, woolly dog - Oska on his evening rambles! But on the morning of the third occasion we were very excited to find that we had three 10 second recordings of 'our Bruel hare' (we saw him on the two occasion we visited the house before we purchased - and as hare are magic creatures, we took it as a 'good omen'!). I agree - the second video is great as you can see the hare very clearly. I watched the 3 videos on my iPhone and I did have to press the play button several times to see the first and second videos! Maybe that is just me! I will ask Ian to watch them on his iPad and see what he thinks. Will FaceTime you soon - we are around on Sunday! xx

Yep all 3 working fine - the 'progress' bar appears to stop prematurely? The all go full screen and number 2 offers a great view the hare's hind quarters .....

AuthorSimon lives at Nichoir, Le Bruel, with his wife Noella. They moved here in May 2013, with their Newfoundland dog, Oska, and their cat, Snufkin. Together they have set out on an adventure to create what they hope will be home from home for family and a rather special Chambres D'Hotes for guests. Categories
